Become familiar with the Area Emergency Response Plan.
Become CERT trained. Encourage others to become CERT trained.
Identify people living within the area boundaries who are professional law enforcement officers or who have been trained in security procedures. Teach them how they can most effectively contribute their services in the event of a disaster.
Choose and train several assistants to help you in the event of a disaster.
In the event of a disaster, after reporting to your respective block captain, go directly to the EOC – Emergency Operations Center to help in establishing a working EOC to assist all people living within the area boundaries in receiving the necessary aid.
Provide the security of the EOC, first aid station or critical care unit, morgue and the neighborhood.
